建築保健工学*　（Health Engineering of Architecture)

建築保健工学は昭和初期の建築家・建築学者であった伊藤正文が始めた学問です。彼は建築保健工学に基ずく調査・研究を行い、その成果を学校建築設計などに生かしました。

岩下研究室では、建築環境工学の理論を使って実際の居住空間における計画・対策手法を開発することを目的にしています。この手法を用いた研究を「居住環境工学」と呼びます。昔、「建築保健工学」と呼ばれていたものです。実際には以下のような研究を行っています。
We develop the method for better built environment in real life based on the theory of environmental technology.We call the above study "Built environmental engineering" or "health engineering in architecture".

1）実際の住環境に基づく研究：実際に活動が行われている環境、たとえば学校や福祉施設、オフィス等において長期に亘るモニタリングを行い、在室者の行動と住環境との関係から新しい建築環境のあり方について考えます。

2）住環境ビッグデータを用いた研究：学校空気環境は学校環境衛生基準に基づき、自治体によって定期的に検査がされています。また特定建築物も定期的に空気環境調査が行われています。これら自治体による調査結果をビッグデータとして解析を行い、換気手法、（オープン型教室/従来型教室のような）教室形態と室内環境との関係を分析しています。

2） Big data research) Air quality in School have been inspected by local government regularly. Such big data are analyzed for determining the relationship between air quality and classroom condition.

3）人間の感覚・パフォーマンスを用いた研究）室内環境因子の良し悪しを測る指標として、「嗅覚」などの人間の感覚を用いた研究を行っています。また、劣悪環境で執務者のパフォーマンスが落ちたり、ヒューマンエラーが増えたりすることがあるので、これらを指標にする研究も行っています。
